THE TRADITIONAL KITCHEN.

Traditional kitchens are designed and built to suit the style of the property for many years to come. If you love warm; comfortable and beautiful all at the same time then a traditional kitchen is the ideal option for you.

Historically, traditional kitchens were the workhorse of the home. Normally, an Aga would be the core feature with an ornate mantle and decorative pilasters which adds authenticity. There’s something undeniably charming about this style of kitchen.

Traditional kitchens allow you to mix natural timber with painted finishes.

Soft muted tones such as creams, whites, taupes, and greens are ideal colour choices for the kitchen

units, paired with a natural granite worktop to keep it looking authentic.

Dresser units with glass fronted doors displaying traditional crockery give a rustic farmhouse feel. More functional items such as large serving plates and casserole dishes can be displayed on open shelving for an added feature and easy access.

Top Tip: Replacing solid drawers with wicker baskets will not only add an extra texture to your kitchen but they are great for storing vegetables and fruit.

The beauty of a traditional kitchen is it allows us to make features stand out by incorporating decorative pilasters and ornate mantles.

No traditional kitchen would be complete without a butler sink; not only do they give a vintage feel but are very practical when it comes to washing large pots and pans.

Flooring is very important to bring the whole look together; a flagstone floor may not be the cheapest choice to lay, but it will certainly look unique and authentic.

Our Essex kitchen designers believe that traditional kitchens are perfect for the family home. The traditional kitchen will also stay classic for years to come.
